I know I am a little too late posting this, but I came across an article about Charities and it is important to remember the service men and women along with their families who sacrifice or sacrificed to give us our home and our freedom. This time of year leads to many Charity phone calls asking for support. It is hard to choose just one charity that serves veterans, as there are many wonderful organizations out there who do a variety of essential work for veterans. However, among the good, there are also some that do not do what they claim. Be careful who you give back to.
Sandra Block of USA Today covers a lot of tips for researching charities before you donate in this article that was updated in November 2011. Here is the link to the article: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/perfi/columnist/block/story/2011-11-07/veterans-charities/51113928/1.
